Part Three of this blog has taken me so long to get round to finishing off mainly because the start to 2017 has been the best and busiest I have ever had, more on this to follow in the next couple o f weeks.
So after a manic August in 2016 I moved in to September with some pretty awesome Autumn and Winter Weddings to look forward to. September started with a bang as I headed down to near Milton Keynes to capture my third wedding for the Coomber family and the fantastic Marquee Wedding of Lydia & Dave.
It was a truly laid back affair and the stunning surrounding fields made for the perfect background for their bride and groom photographs.
Towards the end of September I had the privilege of flying out to Majorca for another chance photograph a destination wedding. This time it was in the mountain village of Son Pont at a small but stunning little venue in the middle of nowhere. Sarah & Andys wedding was the one wedding of last year I didn’t think I need to worry about rain and guess what….. it hammered it down. We had a storm just before the outdoor ceremony was due to take place the likes of which I have never seen in my life. Thankfully after a small delay the beautiful wedding ceremony started on the rooftop setting and the glorious Spanish sunshine made a dramatic appearance .
Into October I got to return to one of my Favourite wedding venues Alrewas Hayes, Nr Lichfield for the beautiful wedding of Emily & Robin. Who doesn’t love a Military Wedding and all the gents looked fantastic in their number ones and later their mess uniforms and where only eclipsed by Emily herself.
Remember, remember the 5th November, because thats when I had the honour of capturing Gemma and Scotts wedding at the fantastic Shropshire wedding venue The Park House Hotel. The weather was incredible and Gemma, Scott and all their guests enjoyed the day in this wonderful wedding venue.
One of the busiest Novembers I’ve had saw me return to the exceptional Alrewas Hayes to photograph another breathtaking wedding. This time it was the turn of Star Wars mad Roy and his beautiful bride Katie. The day was brilliant and the look on Roys face when the Wedding party were joined by Darth vader and a couple of Storm Troopers organised as a surprise by Katie from Imperial Icons was unbelievable. The photographs were pretty awesome too .
Soon Autumn was gone and the Winter weddings were on their way. I started the Winter season off with a beautiful wedding at the always amazing Pendrell Hall, Nr Codsall. Seth & Helens wedding was the perfect day, with the stunning autumn/winter sunshine and one of the finest wedding venues in the Wets Midlands and Staffordshire.
The penultimate wedding of 2016 saw me head back to my 2nd home, Alrewas Hayes and be able to photograph the wedding of the most wonderful couple Cyrrhian & Michael. It was a very laid back wedding with us doing the photographs before the ceremony to take advantage of the stunning grounds offer by Alrewas Hayes. We can’t also forget the appearance of the family dogs who were all in attendance and very well behaved all day. the early sunset gave me the perfect chance to try out a shot I’ve been wanting to try for some time and was finally able to capture, the moon, the stars and venus along with the happy couple and not bad for a first effort I don’t think.
With Christmas done and dusted the final wedding of 2016 saw me return to the Park House in Shifnal to capture Lucy & Chris big day. Having shot several weddings for Chris’s family in the past it was like meeting up with old friends and seeing many previous clients was a true delight. The day itself was magical and despite the dense fog that had descended the photographs and the couple looked amazing and had a fantastic day.
Well thats it TWENTY-SIXTEEN. My 10th year photographing weddings professionally and year where i got to photograph in the West Midlands, Staffordshire, North Devon and even Spain. This was the year i got my mojo back and the start of a truly amazing journey with so many plans to look forward to. 2017 is already shaping up to be the best Ben Fones Photography has ever had, and the incredible things 2018 holds means i can’t wait to get started. Im so excited to be out capturing all my lovely couples big days over the months and years to come. I hope you enjoyed my 2016 review, one of aims going forward is to blog each wedding individually and hopefully within 12 months of it actually happening haha, so feel free to subscribe and share as many posts as you like, thank you all for your continued support.
